Wanna eat?

Current polling indicates that 47% of registered respondents are voting for elk, 33% for salmon, and 20% for other options.

However, an astounding 66% haven't responded at all - and therefore, are currently voting to fast.

If you'd like to get out of the fasting group, please indicate your vote by sending me an email with your selection. The menu is in the entry below.

<3 weeks... woo-hoo!!

P.S. Christy is already weighing the value of eating her food vs. making a tidy profit by selling small portions on the secondary market to those who didn't plan to fast, but didn't submit selections :-)

Menus

As anyone who's met John knows, food is always a high priority. (One of the things we have in common - though I'm an amateur eater next to him.) So we have several entree options on the menu (below) for the reception dinner. Please email me your choice.

And, (Joe - this one's for you!), we're loading up on desserts, so there will be additional desserts besides the mousse - but you don't have to make a choice; you get the mousse and the others, if you still have room :-)

Gift Registry

Several people have been asking us where we're registered, so here's our response...

We feel so fortunate to be together, and to be swimming in good wishes from family and friends.

And we're so thrilled that you've chosen to join us to celebrate our marriage.

Your being with us for this celebration is the best gift you could give us. Really.

However... for those of you who have specifically asked for us to register, here's the info...

Crate & Barrel Gift Registry Pls be sure to pick the right John Kerr; the other one got married last year :-)

Gift cards for Bed Bath & Beyond would also be great. We always find lots of things there that would be fun to use.

Spa discounts

Red Mountain is offering a 20% discount on spa services booked between 10am and 2pm (completed by 2pm)*. If you're so on the ball that you've already booked services and you'd like to change them to take advantage of this offer, you can do that up to 24 hours prior to the time of your originally scheduled treatment. (I'm thinking, though, that if you've booked your spa services this far in advance, you're probably not the type who'd wait till 24 hours before to change it... just guessing here... :-) But I digress... The point is that you can change your appointment time if you want to.

Pls contact the spa at 800-690-9215 (10am-10pm daily), leave a message there, and someone will get back with you. Or you can reach them via email at spares@redmtn.com.

In either case, pls provide the following info:
- address (hmmm... this'd be to keep their marketing people happy)
- phone number
- any medical conditions or allergies the spa needs to be made aware of
- your therapist preference (if you have one)
- the name of the group you're with: Regenbaum/Kerr Wedding Group

* Can't have a promo without a line or two to satisfy the lawyers, so here it is: The offer does not apply to any service contained within a spa package or any other promotions/specials.

hotel reservations

We're all squared with the spa for room reservations. Pls call Red Mountain Spa directly at 1-800-407-3002 (8am-6pm Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm Sat MDT.) They're holding the block of rooms until 10/20 - so it'd be good to avoid procrastinating for too long (as John and I did on our flights and we're now on a 6am(!) flight home...big fun!)

You should reference the Regenbaum/Kerr Wedding group so you get the discounted rates ($199 per adult per day, $99 per child/teen per day (double occupancy); $259 single occupancy.)

There are also reduced rates for villas if you'd like to upgrade your room.

If you'd prefer not to stay at the spa, there are several other hotels in St. George, including a Hilton Garden Inn (rated #8 hotel in St. George by Tripadvisor), a Marriott Courtyard (rated #3 hotel in St. George by Tripadvisor), and a Marriott Fairfield Inn. Or google can provide a slew of other options...

"Formal" invitations

"Formal" invitations are out! (ok, maybe our definition of formal is a little different than most.)

And if you agree with Lisa and it doesn't seem like a real wedding invitation without that extra little piece of see-through paper, let us know and we'll send that to you via snail mail. (Keep an eye on your mail, Lis :-) David & Julie, since you're trekking the farthest for this party, we'll even send you extra see-through paper.

This entire event will be very casual. Dress is whatever's comfortable... shorts, jeans, t-shirts, fleece ... My mom even said she'd be in jeans! How excellent is that?! :-)
(See the weather link on the right nav bar to check on weather in St. George. Temps vary a lot during that time of year.)

The ceremony itself will be on a sand dune in Snow Canyon State Park (right next to the spa). Shoes are not recommended for the (short) walk up the dune. The sand is very fine and feels great to walk on.

Please RSVP via the evite. We'd love for you to join us for the celebration.

Date & Location

We have a date and we have a location! Big progress!!

The wedding will be on Sat 11/22 (late afternoon... 3:30/4:00-ish, with dinner following) at Red Mountain Spa (www.redmountainspa.com) outside St. George, Utah (<2 hr drive NE of Vegas, or 1.5 hr flight into St. George from LA or SLC. Keep in mind that you cross from Pacific to Mountain time zone between Vegas and St. George, so the ~2 hr drive is ~3 hours on the clock.)

I haven't told the hotel yet that we've made a decision because I'm still negotiating some stuff. (So pls sit tight on calling about room reservations.) The hotel rates will be $199 per night per adult (double occupancy). This pricing includes all food and activities except spa services (massages, etc.)

We'll get more info out asap, but wanted to send out the info for flights first, in case you want to get tix sooner rather than later.

Stay tuned for more...
